P bass... Fury or Roadstar?

So... i want another hiding P bass... and since i am forever in the cheaper realm of things, i've narrowed it down to one of these two rad-tastic bassits-basses...

-Peavey Fury

or

-Ibanez Roadstar



So... anyone play both? How do they sound/feel compaired to one another? I've played with a Fury before, but it had a Foundation neck on it, but the electronics were awesome. I don't know much at all about Roadstars.

fury has a nicer neck but roadstar has more mojo IMO

Normal Fury neck isn't much different than the Foundation. Little bit thicker, maybe.

Never played the Roadstar, but really like my late '80's Fury. Did a lot of renovation to it, but I paid $50 for it and knew it need the finish work when I got it. Can be a tad plain to look at, but great players.

A friend of mine in high school had a Roadstar that played and sounded awesome. I still search from time to time trying to find one just like it for the right price, but either I dont have the cash or I am having to buy something else....... Oh Yea, The Blazer is awesome as well....

I'd love to find one with the square 2-and-2 headstock (Instead of that 4-on-the-same-side headstock)... does anyone know what year/model these were?

IIRC, they are Roadstar II's?

Never played a Fury, though I'm a Peavey fan generally. Owned the Roadstar II--great bass, but can be heavy and doesn't sound quite like a traditional P. Louder and more aggressive.

My current favorite among cheap P's for a more classic P-bass sound is the Squier VM Precision. Build quality is pretty good, and sounds authentic. Also heavy, though.

I like your style. I'd go with the 2+2 Roadstar too. Been looking for one for a while
I wont vote becaused I havent played either haha.
The Thinker says the Roadstar is louder and more aggressive than thats for me!

I have a early 90s Fury. Got it for less than a set of DR's go for. I dont really play it much, but thats because I dont care for the factory pickup in it.

The Roadster also is 2x2. Here is an 84 version, P/J passive/active with DiMarzio pups. This bass kicks MAJOR @$$. Cost me 400 used with HS TKL case 5 years ago. Probably cheaper now. Ibby owned the MIJ bass game in the 80's.

I have an '84 Roadstar II P. All original parts. The Super P4 pickups are awesome, the bass plays great, and I love the vintage look it has. I have no experience with the Furys so I can't input much there, but I love my Roadstar.

I will tell you that one of the best P's I have ever played was one of these. Natural w. a maple neck... the Super-p5 pickup in this bass is AMAZING. It had so much growl and low end. I played it back to back w. a Fender P and it blew it out of the water. I didn't have the money for it in time. : ( Someone in Jacksonville has a great bass.
