P-Bass Hardware - VELCRO’ed ON!

The solution is to use 3M Clear Vinyl paint Protector on the body, and then put the velcro on that.

The 3M is used on many factory car and motorcycle parts, where something is liable to rub on the paint, such as under fender flares or where motorcycle seats meet the gas tank. It's specifically designed to not hurt paint and be removable.

Using this method, you could really use heavy duty velcro, and it would all be easily removable.
