Hi P-Bass lovers,
Just a simple idea (not saying I’m the only person who ever thought of it...) to use a quality Velcro strip to adhere ashtray pick-up and bridge cover on your P-Bass.
I ordered the chrome pick-up and bridge covers from Fender. They look great but, I’m still just not 100% sure I want the covers on the bass all the time. I had some good, strong Vecro strips in a drawer and I cut them perfectly to size to adhere the hardware without drilling them on to my Custom Shop ‘63 P-Bass.
It worked-out great. It looks exactly right, plays great, and I can easily pull up either cover any time I want.
Try it out if you are in the fence about hardware....
