P-bass pickguard compatibility

I've got a pawnshop special ($38) older Squire P-bass that getting a few cheap changes; first one being a pickguard. The one on there is a 13 hole. It is a pretty close match if I pick another 13 hole? I'm trying to switch from the single ply white, to a four play tortoise.

Maybe, but what difference does it make. It's not like you paid 3 grand for the thing, just drill new holes if you need to.

I will, but would rather not hassle with it if it can find what just fits.

With SQUIERS on some models, some standard Fender pgs fit, some don't. Crapshoot if you don't get a custom made pg.

My older classic vibe 60s P, standard fender pg fit perfectly. My Vintage modified jazz took some modifications to fit a standard Fender pg.
