P bass pickup into geddy lee jazz?

My google skills are lacking and cant seem find the answers so I’ll turn to the all knowing knowledge of talkbass. Thinking of swapping the neck pickup of my MIM geddy lee jazz with a pbass pickup. Will this even work without lots of modifications? Where can I find a jazz pickguard with a pbass opening. Anything else I might need to know? I love the sound of p/j bass but am addicted to the neck of my geddy lee jazz so figure this will be the best of both worlds. Thanks.

Totally doable. You'll need to route the body to accommodate the P-bass pickups and Warmoth can get you that pickguard. Others I'm sure too. (I'm just familiar with Warmoth) Then wire it up, set it up and you'll be golden.

Was hoping I could do this without routing. I haven’t taken the current pickguard off so wasn’t even sure what it looked like underneath. I certainly don’t have the tools for it but I’m sure a local repair shop could accommodate. Thanks.
