p bass pickup to match MM pickup

Im building my dream bass (with regard to pounding 8ths to rock songs) based on a p bass, with a MM pickup and tru oil treated J-neck... yeah its a real franken-man og precision-stein or precision-man bass.

Thing is MM pickups are not quite as hot as P pickups. I have a SD SMB-4D musicman pickup which is quite nice and i plan to use. But i am looking for a p bass pickup that could play well both as a p bass and in the PM combination without overpowering the MM pickup.

i also plan on having a control bypass switch and a external DIY MM preamp (the one uncle fluffy has made PCBs for). And ill install the par/ser switch on the MM to be able to match outputs better.

im looking at the GFS vintage P or the Fender 62 P, but other suggestions are more than wellcome

How about these? No idea about hotness, but the poles are about the same size.

I put wizard pickups in my bass. Pick the style of pick you want then a dude from england will call you and basically see what you want out of those pickups. He will ask you about the bass itself. What woods and length and all that other stuff. Tell him your situation and he will custom make the pick up you want. They will be in your mailbox with in a few weeks. I did it and till this day every one tells me they are the most original, sweetest sounding pickups. Good build and nice weight. If you life in the states you will have to go through Jade Guitars as they are the only retailer of those pick ups in the states.

I have a Fender 62 paired with a Duncan MM in the bridge. They work well together

Sweet bass you got there, mind if i ask:

How is it wired up (active/passive, what controls, series/parallel)?

As I am planning to do the almost same thing (different colour/finish) your thoughts would be nice to hear
