P Bass Pickup Wires Broke Off

I pulled an old Seymour Duncan Basslines 2B P Bass pickup out of my parts box to install in a bass, but the wires have come off the pickup. Anyone know how they should be re-attached? Thanks

Funny. I apologize for being unclear. Where do the wires go? There are 4 solder lugs but I have no idea where to connect the + or - or the wire connecting the two halves.

To a certain extent, it does not matter. Put one wire on each end of each coil, then you can swap wires when you rig it up if it's out of phase with itself. If you manage to do it "wrong" there's no real chance of harm, so have at it.

Can you show us a photo? We could probably give a better suggestion that way.

I think Seymour Duncan make some good pickups but I have had this very thing happen twice with their pickups, the quality of their soldering leaves much to be desired

Yea, I was a bit surprised myself. It is a great pickup though.

Sorry no pics, but I put the white wire on the top lug of top half, black wire on the top lug bottom half, and bridged between the two bottom lugs. Sounds good. Is this series or normal parallel wiring?

If you have to ask you should take it to a professional. You don’t want to risk ruining the pickups.

If the two pickup halves are joined together by a wire then it is series wiring
