P Bass Poll: Fender or G&L

I don't own any of the two basses in the poll, but my vote is for the G&L LB-100.
I own a Fender AVRI 62 P, a Fender AVRI 62 J, a G&l L-2500, a G&L SB-2 and a G&L ASAT bass (all made in the USA).
I had owned a few other Fender and G&L basses.
My next bass will be a G&L LB-100, or a LB-105 if it happens. And the sooner the better...

Actually, it should be "The Lefty G&L is better".. there's only one model and color that you can get. An L2000 Tribute in Natural Clear. That's it; that's all. Fender is at least a little more acommodating.. Personally, I don't consider that much of a choice; more like condescendingly throwing me a bone..
I've never played a G&L that wasn't really heavy. My American Special P bass is right around 8 pounds, so that's the difference for me.

All US basses are available as lefties... and there is no Tribute LB-100, it's a US only model.

I definitely prefer Fender for P-Bass... but I think I might slightly prefer G&L for a Jazz right now. But that's probably because I consider the P-Bass a finished masterpiece whereas I see the Jazz Bass more as an ongoing and delightful experiment.

If I look at all three of the bass lines that Leo brought forth in his lifetime I'd have to vote Fender, MusicMan, G&L - in order of preference.
If I were to vote for each company the order would be MusicMan, G&L, Fender. Fortunately for me, I can build a "Fender" out of parts so I don't have to deal with the company, which I did:

I own an LB-100 and an american standard. IMO the G&L beats it in every single way including weight. My G&L is quite a bit lighter. Approx 7.5-8lbs. It sits perfectly in the mix, and has tone for days. Sometimes it comes down to individual instruments. I have never played a recent Fender that comes close to my LB-100. I realize I may be opening a can of worms here, but to me, G&L is more "Fender" than any Fender instrument made after 1964. The man who invented the P-Bass started G&L and remained there until his death. His wife Phyllis is still on the board. Leo Fender himself said the G&L's were "the best instruments I have ever made."
I digress. All that really matters is what you like most. For me, it's a G&L. For others it's something that says Fender on the headstock. I hope no one misunderstands me. I think FMIC is making some fine instruments (I own one). My advice is get what you like most, and concentrate on making music.

purely economical reason - I run a recording studio. Clients like Fender. It's like one of them keywords. Another one would be Gibson. Anything else, they look at you like you're an alien or something.
Fender American Std. Precision bass. I haven't had the opportunity to try a G&L, i can only go by what I have played.
I'm sure that G&L are fantastic instruments and hope to acquire one in the future,they have some beautiful basses.

I have an LB100 (see avatar), a L2000 and a SB-2 all USA made. If I would get another bass it would be an SB-1. I've have a Fender Jazz and a P. They never get played except when I get curious about their sounds. I always go back to my G&Ls.
