For a standard P-Bass 4-string (mine is MIM) which Pickups should I get? I do want bright sound, but not "clangy". I definitely don't want dull and muddy. What should I go for?

P-Bass PUPS which is best sounding?

The 57 RI pickups are bright. The poles under the A string are raised up, boosting the mids. Sounds like butter!
My 59 CS P pickup has a deeper, warmer tone, but not muddy at all. I'd highly recommend it too.

DiMarzio DP127 Split P
Each half of the unique, double blade DiMarzio DP127 Split P Replacement Pickup for Fender P Bass is a complete humbucker. The Split P pickup is EQd to expand the range of your bass by extending both low- and high-end response a great way to get a broader contemporary sound from mid-rangy, one-pickup-in-the-middle basses. The DiMarzio DP127's double-blade design adds snap for crisp attack and emphasizes cool overtones for big, smooth tone. Blade pole pieces also make the Split P very sensitive to finger and pick attack. I just replaced the pick-ups on my 57 AVI with Nordstrands.
As nice as the 57 were the Nords are much nicer.
More defination but still punchy with warmth.

Well I am glad someone on here is actually considering dimarzio dp-127's. I love EMG's active pickups, i swear by them and i am completely biased. However, the dp127's are definately the best p bass pickups i have heard or used, especially for the price, i dropped one in with the stock pots even and it sounds great
I vote for the Delano P's with the big fat pole pieces. I recently sold a bass with one installed and it was by far the best sounding P pickup I have ever heard.

Replaced my original 78 Pbass PU for the Nordstrand and couldn't be happier. Nice, fat, warm sounding PU.

I'll chime in about the DiMarzio Split-P humbuckers, I have them in mine. I originally got an EMG P since I liked the DC-35 so much in the P position on a different bass. The EMG P was a bit too bright in this bass, maybe because it has a solid ebony neck 
The Split-Ps sound great, I'm way impressed, nice lows/low mids, not muddy, nice top end, good oomph. I should add that I was trying to get my hands on those Delano single pole P pickups but couldn't find any. I think we can safely assume that their sound is balls-to-the-wall as well,
