P-bass question

Does any one have a pic or has both a j-bass and p-bass bacause I want a "f" logo bridge cover but i own a p-bass so i want to see if they fit or if they go over or even if i can midify it to fit thanks

I own a '79 P and a '73 J, both with original chrome hardware. The J bridge cover is way bigger than the P; the screw holes are close to an inch total wider on the J. The bridge cover does fit on the P, though you would have to drill 2 new holes at least an inch higher on the body. As the above post stated, not advisable, as far as resale value is concerned.

Not a good pic but here ya go..

J cover does not hit the pickguard on the Fender P. I agree with other post- it actually sits comfortably over the P bridge, but new holes will need to be drilled.

Looks ok, but it takes away some playability. I find there are songs, or even individual notes, when I want the hard plonk you get by playing right down by the bridge. And of course if you want to put your piece of foam in as a mute, it's very difficult.

I think it looks sexy and im gonna go and but one on with a p-bass pup cover and i will eventually post the pic on here i just need to find a cheap one and like before new holes i really dont care

it looks a little off to me, but then it also throws me off to see aged nickle hardware on a Les Paul Studio. mind you this is coming from the guy that stuck a DiMarsio X2N7 on a Squier P bass so what do i know?

zelth24- You can definitely pull the J cover lower so it's hanging off the body; it's all a matter of what look you want. Keep in mind, though, that the screw holes will not line up (off by close to an inch from each other) with the P holes.
