P-bass with one stacked knob?

Thanks for bringing your dream up! I don't have the result yet, but all the parts are ready and I have the neck and body in with the tech for a join and setup. OK, so my vision was not a dream but got started with video from the "Jools Holland"" show. The bassist was playing his sunburst P with a clear plastic control plate - no pick guard of course. So while that image rolled around in my head for a little, I thought why not get the nicest burst body, and cut a lexan control plate with just the jack and a sweet stack knob? Anyway that's where I am at waiting for judgement on neck and body alignment at the moment.

My pseudo P has a John East P-Retro which has a Volume/Tone stack. Of course it also has a second stacked knob for active EQ and an active/passive switch.
But personally I've really liked the stacked volume and tone. I think it'd be cool on a passive Precision.

I'd be more concerned about getting the output jack off the pickguard & into the body.

I'm loving all the replies guys. I had an "aha!" moment yesterday when I realized that I can just do it to my bass now to see what it's like haha. I just have to work on my soldering skill and buy the stacked pot.
The Reverend Meshell Ndegeocello sig bass is essentially a P with a stacked knob, in terms of electronics at least. The body shape is a bit different.

I don't have a good pic, but I made this P from Allparts/Warmoth parts.
The reason my P has a stacked knob is that I built it after my stack knob 62 reissue jazz got stolen.
It was a tribute to that bass, and also, if the P ever got ripped off it would be easy to identify.
Awesome! This is exactly what I was looking for haha. Our knob placement is a little different but essentially the same idea.
Now that we're really off track, could I mount a 3 way toggle switch in a spare pick guard hole just for the joy of having an unwired switch that does nothing at all?

A little update, I did it to my bass years ago and ended up doing it to a second bass more recently:
Actually thinking of doing a minimalist look p bass with warmoth. For me to get the ultimate clean minimalist look but tonal flexibility ....I would do a 50s style single coil....rear access control mount with no pick guard and a single stacked knob to get both volume and tone control out of one knob.
