Go to a music store and play one, for cryin' out loud! Even if we could describe it in words, you wouldn't understand it in the same way we meant it. Can you tell me, in words I can comprehend, how a banana tastes?
I agree with this big time, but I do have to admit, in a band setting is where a P-Bass shines. In the guitar store without a whole band playing along a Jazz will sound nicer, but I find a P-bass cuts through guitars much better.
Of course everyone likes different stuff, so my preferences might not be the same as everyone else's.
