And could someone also answer my this? I have a Yamaha RBX170 - beginner bass with a P/J pickup set. I'm looking to replace the pickups, so in doing that, what is the likeliness that i'm going to need some routing done to replace them? (for fitting them and/or wiring)
IME I can honestly tell you that I was WAYYY more happy with a model J than my old ultra jazz. I have 1 bass that has a neck and bridge ultra jazz than run in series together, and that works great... but ran in parallel... not good. The Model P and Model J both work great independently and together. That's my opinion, I'm sure someone will disagree
And I do play harder music as well, so this is not coming from someone who necessarily wants "vintage tone" all the time
