I have a P-bass with a Jazz neck that I love to play. It’s light, feels great, just the right size. I didn’t pay much for it but it has some nice parts - Hipshot tuners, Babicz bridge.

Also I find myself jonesing for one of the MM/P basses I see out there, like a Sandberg.

Hmm. Before I blow $3K on a new bass, maybe I should consider adding an MM to my P bass.

Love to hear about others who have done this. What pickups did you choose? How much did the rout cost? How did you wire it?

I’d be happy to stick with passive unless there’s a compelling reason to go active.

Presently the bass has a Fender Custom Shop ‘62 in it; I would plan to replace it.

Whatcha got.
