My P (as a P-J)... best sounding bass I ever had

After restoration to 'original'

With the restoration I have an AWESOME P-Bass, but I miss the spice a P-J adds. I am leaning towards the rout, but as I am an unrepentant modder, I do need to consider resale - even though that shouldn't be the only consideration. I guess what I'm really asking is: If I do rout a Road Worn P-Bass, does it adversely affect resale value - even if I do it 'right' (Fralins and shielding, etc)
Holy cripes. How in the world did you cover up that huge route so cleanly?!
I used to dream about giving my 60's jazz a 70's spacing route, which would leave a hole about half the size you just covered up. That dream was shot down when I asked about this endeavor in the luthier's forum and heard that whatever filling would expand significantly differently than the original body (leaving an ugly bump in the new paint).
congrats!
