P/P configuration

Has anyone played a P/P configuration? I'm curious to know what the tonal difference is between a P/P and the P/J.

IIRC, Leland Sklar played a dual Precision on a lot of recordings. Can't say for sure whether that bass is on the James Taylor stuff, but it just might be.

wow, it does, doesn't it? it actually sounds a lot like a jazz bass set to both pickups.

what an odd choice of instruments for that gig (that BC rich with the 14 switches would make more sense as a spinal tap bass), but in the hands of jerry preston it's just further proof that a master can make anything sound good.

bush's first album was recorded on a fender precision elite 2, which sports the dual p's

With P neck and P bridge you get P pup sound char for both neck and bridge and also from both pups blended. Nicely diff from P neck and Jazz bridge. Only PP basses Ive owned have been BC Richs. Next best thing to humbucker/soapbar neck and bridge pups to me.
