I voted Fralin, BUT. there is an american expat here in wiesbaden that used to work for PRS and Lindy Fralin named Tyler Henderson and he is getting his website up so look for him. He is on facebook. He made/is making me a PJ set to my specs 100% handmade.

I voted Dimarzio's.

Outa the one's there I've only tried the Fender P's ( good - just great!) , the SD QP-(Too clean & 'clinical' maybe powerful I Dunno they just didn't 'do it' 4 me)

& the DiMArzio's... I liked these - both the one's with the blade magnets & the ones with the adjustable hex pole pieces. To me- these sounded (both different) articulate, vintage-but able to be versatile, & warm.

The Next I liked were the Fenders. Similar but not quite as articulate or warm.

I just swapped pickups today in my USA Fretless P. Took out a pair of Rio Grande pups that I really enjoyed (especially for recording), but were a bit too polite for this particular instrument. Swapped in a DiMarzio Model P from the 70s, it nails the sound I need... warm and growly without being audibly "hot" or too aggressive.

Voted for the Fender because I don't have any experience with the other ones you have listed, but I have used the Dimarzio Will Power P and Split P though.

I prefer the Will Power over the Split, and might even prefer genuine Fender to the Will Power. Still wanting to try out a Model P though. And I've heard many great things about the Fralin.

Bartolini 8S P (modern sound)

Not necessarily only for modern tones. I like it's wider bandwidth because I can eq the amp for a wide range of tones suitable for anything I play.

The 8SU has even wider bandwidth with more highs available if that's your thing.

Also, they've got great sheilding for extremely quiet operation.

I love my emg's. i don't remember the model. just your standard active p-replacement. incredibly deep, with tingly midrange harmonics. back off the tone knob a little, and they get very vintage-y. less deep, more mellow, still sounding great. it really is a "tone" knob. they sound particularly amazing with 15" speakers.
