PA cabinet as Bass amp

Hey guys, i don't have a bass amp, but what I do have is 2 "unpowered enclosure" PA cabinets powered by a poweramp which is then connected to a pre-amp.

here's one:

Would it suffice as a bass amp for now, or am i sure to blow it out ?

it's possible, but it's also possible that they're not designed for anything but voice and low volume instruments without much low end. impossible to say without knowing the specs. but looking at it, it reminds me of this old pair of pa cabs i have made by audio centron, which was also a company owned by st louis music, and no way i could run bass through them at anything other than a very low volume.

being a crate cab, it's not going to be rated for much power, so low-volume only. if there's a control on the back to back off or even bypass the horn, that would also be a good idea.

Hm, i'm away from my house right now, so i'll try to scrounge up sum facts online

Crate Speaker
the model is: PS115HP
12 inch subwoofer
8 ohms 125 watt

i don't know about the power amp model, it looks like this though

and the pre-amp is a presonus TUBEPRE

Be careful because your speakers are not designed for bass guitar and have low power rating. If in fact you own a QSC 1450 you will be way over powered. Even the 850 is too much. DO NOT run the amp in bridge mode or you will be needing some new speakers.
