painting fretboard

Hello,

I would like to paint the frets off of my Fender Jazz fretless bass (mexican). It has these white plastic lines that are more incorrect than anything.

what is a good paint to use that won't chip or cause any damage?

Any paint that you put on top of the frets will be scraped off when playing, when the steel strings press and rub against the frets.

Is there any way he could paint over the frets, epoxy the entire fretboard, and sand and buffer? Might not be a perfect job, but it may be better than following an incorrect scale.

Cut the fret lines out, fill with wood filler and stain the entire fingerboard before putting epoxy on the board.

If the lines are incorrect, stop looking at them!!
