Double Bass Palatino VB-004-1/4 Question????

Hi,

I am an electric bass player. Always wanted to get a DB but funds never quite allowed since I am mostly just a hobby musician. I came across a great local deal on a slightly used Palatino VB-004-1/4 Crack Resistant Bass, 1/4 Size . But I can't find much info about it online. The stuff I find is always about the 3/4, not the 1/4.

Can anyone here shed some light on this bass? Is it good? bad? What are they worth used?

A complete piece of garbage in a size that is useful only for small kids. In other words, a waste of money at any price, unless you need some crack-resistant firewood. Stop, back up, and go right HERE. Then, c'mon back with questions.

I recently got rid of (ei, sold) my 3/4 VB-004....was a truly happy day. Crack resistant, my ass....the neck developed a crack within two months of ownership. Beyond that, I had to find a luthier who wouldn't laugh the thing off the face of the planet. In defense of said luthier, he DID make the bass playable...but it was time to move on. My advice is to lean towards something else. You may have to spend a little more money, but you won't regret the investment. Just stay away from those Palatinos and similar basses....no good, no how.

Why are you considering such a small upright? I use 1/4 size for 5th graders.
