Double Bass Palatino vs. Arrow

Hello everybody,
I'm new to this forum and this is my first post.

I'm a bass player and I'd like to try the upright bass, so I want a cheap instrument to start with.
I found two model that fit my budget and would like to know which one is best:

1) Palatino VE-500 http://www.scavino.it/paladino_ve500.htm
2) Arrow upright bass (a.k.a. Artisan) [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

There is some commentary here but no real direct comparision that I know of

I wish these basses had come into the US as they seem to be an interesting option.

Thanks very much, seems like it's not bad for that price and I read good things about the Palatino too, so I guess either I choose I'd have a decent instrument.

I still hope someone who tried both or at least knows about both will post some advice.
