Parts Build Bridge Ground Question

I am building a parts bass. I currently have a body (p bass) and neck. I was reading about bridges and saw someone mention needing to ground the bridge. I had never heard of this so I wanted to know if this is something I'll need to do and how to do it. If it matters, for pickups/ electronics I was going to go with the EMG PVA5 or Geezer passive set up.
Thanks!

Grounding the bridge is a cheap and janky way to reduce EMI noise. It’s easier than doing a full shielding job, which is why the manufacturers adopted it, and then everybody else did too.

It’s not necessary at all. But if your instrument has poor shielding then you might experience some noise.

EMG active pickups are internally shielded, so they’re not a problem. Not sure about the Geezers.
