After years and years of playing, recording, building and modifying - I normally play basses with Alembic guts or play Alembic basses, or basses with active Bartolini guts, EMGs etc... I am very happy to play my personal Lefty Joe Long tribute bass, with stack knobs, traditional passive wiring and caps, passive pickups, flat wound strings, pick, bridge cover, tug bar.....
Have been playing to classic Joe Osborn tracks, Chicago Transit Authority, Macca and later era Beatles, Niel Diamond, carpenters tracks and of course Four Seasons for weeks now and I can leave this bass plugged in next to my desktop playalong rig (Macbook pro, Countryman DI, Behringer mixer, Sony cans or Yamaha monitors) without worry of draining batteries...
Am a happy camper.
BTW, the bass was an Ebay assembly labour of Fender love, over 10 years, bought each part individually, down to the saddles...she is now complete. Colour doesn't do it justice in this pic, but it has the aged olympic white finish.
I am going to call this bass Aquarius, after the age of aquarius, the 5th dimension tune. I have been playing to that tune too much!

I now see in your sig that she must be a lefty. I see so many inverted pics posted nowadays, it hard to tell sometimes.
