passive humbucker

i'm building a bass along the line of the aria pro II cliff burton played, the ibanez EDA900 and the flea bass

passive humbucker with 3 band EQ, i'm going for the seymour duncan MM EQ with the slap switch etc.

but the humbucker has lost me, the seymour duncan passive phase II has caught my fancy mainly, and if anyone has any opinion on that, or any other passive HBs i could use,
it'd be much appreciated

FWIW:

there are lots of reviews on MM's from a google search - I alone have 10 or so of them in Dimento's MM experiment in FAQ.
