Paul McCartney: How does he rank as a Bass Player?

I'd say he is plenty capable. Not a virtuoso or anything like that. More of the songwriter type. I have a lot of respect for him though.

Whatever you think of him, there is no doubt he is the best McCartney style bass player out there.
He did come up with his own style.
And that says a lot about him.
(And about other bass players that do the same thing)
