Ugh....I played the hofner bass and it was awful....WAY too light and small.
I thought the exact same thing when I first tried one, but after trying a second one that was properly set-up and being played through a nice rig, I have to say they aren`t half bad!
The weight is a nice change too when coming from Warwicks and MM StingRays![]()

There he is playing a Wal, but thats the only one I found.
I often think of how the Beatles might have been different had Paul played a Precision (which I believe was what he wanted, but it was too expensive). So much of the appeal of the early Beatles was the look, and the Hofner was so integral to that look.
Paul also made the Hofner an icon. The P was already an icon.
And a fiver, no less. Love that bass.
