One Blue, One Yellow............They really have a strong output! Very cool, and easy to play! You got a great price too! :D Yamaha actually made a special hardshell case (G&G) for this model. You can find them used every once in a while! :cool:

DAMN that's sweet! Love the older styling!

here is the link to the serial look up.
Serial Number Chart for Electric,Archtop and Bass Guitars -

Mine is:
Serial # -QN03024

Q=year (2000)
N=month (July)
03=day
024= production code

There maybe others that have more insights, but that's what I get out of it??
Good Luck

Cool, thanks! Looks like mine was made on October 25, 2000, number 039. I never even though to look it up. As for the years the reissue models were in production, here:

You can see the suggested retail price, year/month production started and year stopped. The "MF" is the signature model of Miki Furukawa, who played bass in Supercar.

Congratulations my friend, and welcome to my world....
And +1 on the custom pickguard

yeah, I have seen your posts before (and how you mentioned your singer hates that bass!) and that is why I wanted to post my find (also I like how you put your pic on your pickguard.....very cool)

it really is a neat/fun bass, (and the headstock does look like a Parker....um never thought of that....cool) and it has a great sound as well (it can do the rear pickup Jaco thing quite well and a really...almost mean....p bass tone! Thanks for all of the great responses!
