Looks like you guys are on the same page.
I had one of those last weekend, but no pictures. Double bass, piano (a 1904 Hamburg Steinway! Pianists fight each other to get time on that box!) and drums, plus horns. I've been playing jazz for 40 years on sax, and I don't know what happened other than to say the groove was just SO WICKED that we had to play quieter and quieter, till we were JUST COOKING ALONG as softly as we could play...YOW!
Tune finished, drummer and I give each other high fives.
Happened about two or three more times that session.
Sure hope I can keep getting that to happen.
Thanks, I've been playing this very simple tune for 10 years now, it's all about the groove.Locked in the groove. That was really nice!
