PBass S-1 Sucks!?! Or is it just me?..

Musician's friend gives you 45 to test drive your instrument. If you didn't like it you should have sent it back. I have ordered many basses from MF and most I have kept. I did have a 2007 Jazz bass with the S-1 and long story short I ripped it out and wired it as a regular Jazz bass.

I've gotten some fine instruments ordered through them in the past (SR500 and my Warwick Corvette), and HMZ does have a point....we understand it was 2004 when you got it, but if you couldnt tell you didn't like it in 45 days, I'd have to say it's your fault for not returning it back then.

Fender's instruments bought via the web (sorry to all the fender dudes!) can be inconsistent on quality. Had a MIM fretless J that I bought, it was warped right out of the box. Intonation was completely off by at least a half step. Bass sounded awesome, but at the time I didn't wanna fork out the money to get it fixed professionally.

I'm giving S1 some love here. I'm just the opposite of most the posts. I've found the series/parallel to be just another tool. I've been out in the audience (wireless) when my bass was overpowering and if I turned down, I wasn't cutting. Flipped the switch, turned up the volume a bit, and the bass fit the mix much better. Notes much clearer with just enough bottom.

I never use the s1 on mine i had a pro set it up and it is awesome!!

I have the S1 on my jazz, but the previous owner wired it as a kill switch. Handy to have so you don't have to mess with vol. settings during breaks, b/t songs, etc.

A good set up will do wonders for an instrument. However, there are plenty of P Bass lovers here on TB and I'm sure you could get some money for it or trade it here in the TB classifieds.
