I have never seen anything like this in white tolex. Can anyone tell me a little more about it? It appears to be a Peavey Series 400 head on top of a 2 15 cab. Does it sound good? Is it valuable? Is it ridiculously big and heavy? Does the white tolex add any value? Also I do not know the wattage for the head.

Peavey 400 2 15 Rig in White Tolex?

So if I get the GAS for it, I can't go get it unless a friend with a big truck can help me move it, which I would pay them for.
Its not that heavy. Just a 2x15 and a head.
I have squeezed various 2x15 cabs in hatchbacks before.
Never seen a white peavey Series 400. Likely been refinished.
Various amps used the 400 power amp.
Its about 120 watts into 4 ohms.
Its not your everyday 120 watts. They used a very large power transformer.
And used way more output transistors. So it is 2 ohm Stable.
Running a 2 ohm load it can provide 200 watts.
So it capable of running a pair of 2x15 cabinets.
4x15 is pretty fun.

Back in the early 70's Peavey produced a number of amps and cabs finished in white tolex for Lynyrd Skynyrd as one offs. This could possibly be one of them, not saying that it is but just possibly.

Would there be any way to verify that this is or is not one of the Skynyrd rigs?
That would be pretty hard to confirm.
You would need inside info like a band tech or old salesman that might actually know serial numbers.
Besides its definitely a fantasy or info you wouldn't want the seller to know. Dont give them any possible reasons to raise the price. LOL
Maybe it is a factory job, who knows.

Waaay back then.....A local group here in Central/Southern Illinois, (Can't remember their name off hand, but it wasn't Lynard Skynard), their whole Peavey backline was amps in the white Tolex.
PV guitar amps, PV bass amp and PV cabs, PV steel amp all in white Tolex, PV monitors and PV FOH was in standard black.
Peavey bass tone is an acquired taste. I played a Mk IV for years and it never let me down. Their premium speakers were call Black Widow and that cab may or may not have them. As for its' value? It is worth whatever people are willing to pay. It looks cool for sure.
I’ve seen a 400 in white on sale on Craigslist before. I wondered same thing - if it was some one off thing. I have a 400 in the black and I love it. It pumps and has that distortion channel. Can get some dirt and not super expensive! I always feel like people will come back to Peavey but hasn’t happened yet
Peavey use to be made in Meridian Mississippi and just about every component was made in house. Now days they are all made off shore and are pretty much like everything else.

Not everyone likes them, but one thing you can say for them is that they can be expected to work and get the job done, even now.
I expect they would have more fans and vintage admirers if they had not used the super heavy particle board for all their cabinets.
