I bought a used T-Max last fall for $200. My budget was a bit over three times that but, after listening to a handful of other heads, I figured why waste the money? The T-Max fits the bill for me.

Sorry, can't comment on the Tour series.
I bought a Max 700 head (traded, actually) when they first came out, replacing the Firebass. I have used it pushing one BagEnd 1x15, two BagEnd 1x15's, and I have used it from time to time pushing a pair of 1x18 EV subs (rather than lugging that 100+ pound rack inside). It sounds great no matter what speakers I hook it to. It's a keeper.
