Peavey centurion mark 3 - modifications?

Just picked up this peavey centurion mark 3. Currently playing in a hardcore band with mostly overdriven, clanky tone. So this amp is good for tone without any additional pedals. Old amp but sounds fierce.

I was thinking about doing a few modifications for aesthetics and modernization... Nothing major, some housing and wiring modification, but all things i could do myself.

1) replace 1/4" speaker jack with speakon
2) remove tolex, sand and stain housing (inspired by emperor cabinet aesthetics)
3) replace wired-in power cable with jack for disconnectable cable
4) add in cooling fan/vent in back housing panel

Anybody ever do anything similar?

IMO they are perfect right out of the box for what they are and the intended use.
I'd leave that amp alone!

If you are determined to mess with it speakons with 1/4 inch won't hurt.
There is nothing under the tolex that you would want to look at or stain, leave it alone.
Why bother with the power cable. The way it is, you won't ever leave home with out it.
A vent or fan might help some, but if it has lived this long with out it, I doubt it reeally needs it.

I did once mod an older PV head by moving the strap handle to the end of the cabinet opposite the power transformer.
Makes it hang straight down and not twist your wrist when carrying it.

Doesn’t need a fan, that’s been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt over 40+ years

It's a tank the way it is. I'd leave it alone
