Peavey cirrus 5

Greetings all! I'm thinking about picking up a Peavey Cirrus 5 at a great price. The string spacing is a little narrow for me though. Could I put on a bridge that would bring it out to 19 mm spacing or would that cause more issues than what it's worth.

More than likely the outer strings would be off the fretboard, the neck is designed around the string spacing of the bridge.

Ok thanks. It says it has adjustable string spacing on the bridge, and it looks like there is more room on the outside of the neck than usual, but I just don't know how much adjustability is in the bridge.

I think it's an ABM.

Well, you have some latitude with the string saddles. I believe the locking grub screw is located on the front / leading aspect of each saddle assembly. It may take some experimentation but even a small nudge may help. BTW, the spacing (center-to-center) doesn't have to be consistent.

Thanks! I found an older Talkbass thread, I can't remember the date, but somone said it was adjustable from 17.5 to 18.5mm. If they're wrong and it only goes to 18mm, that's still decent. I can do that. The bass plays too well for 1mm to deter me from it.

Excellent! As long as the strings don't roll off the fingerboard, you'll be fine.
