Peavey Fury question

Hey all.

I ran into a used (very good condition, but kinda old) Fury. Now, I don't really know anything about the Fury series. This one had:

- 34" scale
- Maple neck, thin like a Jazzs
- P style pickup.
- Vol/Tone control.

Kinda looked like that.

So, is the Fury series some sort of cheap series? Or are there higher-level furies?

Thank you!

What everybody else said.

The only thing I don't like about them are the cheap white pickguards, but that's easy enough to fix.

I put a Orig Fender 62 pup in mine and re-wired it
with new pots and shielded wiring.

I have not found a P bass nicer than my black Fury.

Here just a few with my black beauty,

It just cost me $60 in a pawn shop,

If you like P bass and thin necks, it is an awesome
bass.

Ok. Thanks for the info. By the way, Shenmue is great. I got the 2nd one fo the Xbox some years ago but I stopped playing it because I wanted to play the 1st one. So I went out, bought a Dreamcast just to play it. I really wish they would continue with the series. It's like nothing else out there. The Wife even watched me play the ending of Shenmue 2 because it was so interesting.

FWIW, here's a recording of a Peavey Fury I picked up a few weeks ago. Great basses!

I think he has the stock pickup in that track.

Some people call it over driving. He made it sound explosive.

I liked that track.

He made the small strings sound wonderfully smooth.

I love the USA split pole Fury. The only bass I like better is
my Westone Electra P/J bass,

Wow! Thanks! :hyper:

That is the stock pickup going through the old GuitarRig2 (my favorite version) plugin, using Pro Tools. Apogee Mini-me preamp and a Little Labs Red Eye direct/reamp box.

Btw, I have a Westone Thunder IIb which is an active PJ pickup configuration. That bass sounds truly monstrous!

Glad I could help with your question!

Shenmue is one of my favorite games ever. Depresses me that we will probably never get a Shenmue 3. :(
