Peavey Fury question

I'm another fan. The Fury has a lot of people who really appreciate and respect it.

The Fury was made in the USA.

However, the Fury II, IV, V, and VI were made in Korea.

Probably a dumb question, but how would you tell between a USA made one and a Korean one?

I've seen some pics of headstocks bearing "manufactured in the USA" and others with "Fury" in italics written on them.

The imports will have a different body style, VFL pups and active electronics.

If it's a P-Bass, then it is Made in the USA.

There is also a Peavey Fury that has a slanted Super Ferrite pickup that was made before the more commonly known P-Bass version.

This is the one I'm keeping an eye out for. I already have a '84 Foundation with Super Ferrites. A very unique sound.

Another Peavey fan. I don't personally own one, but I have used one of my buddies and it is a swell sounding P. The one time I played it, I liked it better than my Squier, and Squier makes a fine bass. I like the Peavey pickup much better, it might just be me, but the Squier doesn't have the balls that the Peavey does.

The U.S. version will either have 'Crafted' in USA, or Made in USA on the headstock.

I use a Gibson 5/16" truss rod tool. They're easy to find.

Hey all.

I ran into a used (very good condition, but kinda old) Fury. Now, I don't really know anything about the Fury series. This one had:

- 34" scale
- Maple neck, thin like a Jazzs
- P style pickup.
- Vol/Tone control.
...!

The Peavey Fury was the first bass I owned. All three choirs I backed loved it. One of the singers later bought it from me.

I have the same bass pictured above. It was a pawnshop find, think I paid $75.00 for it. But here's the kicker, its' action is way better the either of the Fender P's I own. In fact, I'd still gig with it if it sounded better. It lacks the deep lows I get from my P. I wonder what replacement pickup would be a good exchange for the tired super Ferrite bar thats in there now.

+1. The tool originally provided by Peavey is useless.
