Forgive me if this can be found on the boards elsewhere... I tried searching but to no luck..
Anyways, I've scored what I believe to be a pretty sweet deal at a local guitar center (of all places)... A peavey grind 4 string for $150. Unfortunately, as some of you probably know, due to guitar center's policies for used items that they've recently taken in, I have to wait about another week before I can pick the bass up.
My question is this..... Did peavey ever offer the grind with active circuitry? This bass' control knobs had a stacked pot for what I believe was a bass and mid cut/boost, another for high cut/boost, a pickup blend, and master volume.
In my subsequent research since placing the payment to hold the bass, I've been unable to find any peavey grind basses that had active circuitry offered stock, so I'm thinking this was done by the previous owner.
I suppose I should've opened it up and looked into the electronics, but that's tough to do in the middle of the store, especially since my visit there was on a whim and not really planned.
In either case the bass sounded nice when I played it out, felt good, and at $150, I believe it was a steal. For what it's worth, it's the version with the soap bar pickups, NTB, and has the "monorail" bridge system, where each string has it's own miniature "bridge" (sorry.. Best way to describe it!) and there's no plate.
Excited to get this guy home!
