Peavey KB300 noise when using internal pre amp.

I bought a KB 300 a while back expecting to use it as just a power amp, it works great for that purpose with a Bass Fly Rig as a pre, but I've been experimenting with a ric-o-sound setup and thought to try out the on board mixer to minimize equipment I need to hual. The problem is that going through the onboard mixer it has an intermittent loud hum/thumping sound. I thought it was the reverb going out but it did it again today even with the reverb turned off on each channel.

The reverb return section may still remain active with the channel sends turned down.

This is generally a problem that requires a scope and experienced troubleshooting skills to resolve.
