Peavey 'Mark' series amps

Depends where you are ? There is allot of love and nostalgia for those of us who have had them but this hasn’t translated into a great resale value yet they are starting to creep up slowly in value here I presume it’s the vi and not the vi xp? Here if it’s mint you could get 300+ due to its vintage and increasing collectible status but it could take a while to get the right buyer in the US there more common so i presume you’d get less for it…..
yeah it's the older VI not the XP maybe made in early 80's. I also have a peavey mark IV and it's good, great condition except the little plastic grill vent on top of the IV.....never seen one that hasn't been broken on corners LOL would be nice to find a new one of those grill vents

I had a MkIII that I used predominately to play keyboards through (don't ask...but, it worked well with a DIY cab housing a 15" EV speaker). I loaned the bass head and cab to my nephew about eight years ago. Two years later he loaned it to my son. Said son then sold it, which I didn't find out about until maybe two years ago. Sadness.

OffTopic: Also loaned my nephew an incredible sounding/playing, gigged hard and showing it, Hamer P90 Special. Every time I see him he makes sure to let me know he still has it, still plays it and it isn't going anywhere. So, I guess he learned something along the way. ;)

''great condition except the little plastic grill vent on top of the IV.....never seen one that hasn't been broken on corners LOL would be nice to find a new one of those grill vents''...My MKIV has been through three of those grills..the last one it has on it now came as a spare part for a Peavey 5150 amp head..as production of the MKIV ended in the late '80's..they both have the same grill...one thing i did on the last one was to shave down the vinyl around the screw holes with a craft knife so the grill sits flat down on the top with no gaps..the wood of the cabinet of the amp swells up over time and pushes the grill up at the screw holes and the grill doesn't sit flat and any pressure on the grill causes the corners to break off

I own three Peavey MK heads and they are killer. Yes, indestructible and punchy. I got my legendary Peavey MKIV on Craigslist for $25 bucks a few years ago and it's never going anywhere.

I had a MKIII, which is the one with the graphic EQ and chorus and through an Ampeg 410 / 810 cab it was to this day one of the BEST set ups I ever owned and it was AFFORDABLE !!!!!!!
