Peavey mod/upgrade

I have a Millennium 4 AC BXP and found this old post discussing the bass. Does anyone have any more info on doing this mod? Where to get the preamp (I can't find it on the Peavey site)? Is this a direct replacement with a little soldering work? When you say "sweepable mids" how is that different from what I have now? My bass already has 3 band eq and pickup blend controls: Invalid Link Removed

If it's the active one with the soapbars you could improve it greatly by replacing the preamp with a Millennium USA preamp. You can buy one from Peavey for about $75. Your tone will improve and you'll have sweepable mids. The soapbar pickups in the BXP AC basses are the same as those in USA Cirrus basses.

EDIT: I also just found this post for further reference:
I believe this preamp is now available on the new US Cirrus basses, so I am pretty sure Peavey still makes them. It was offered on the Tiger Eye Cirrus basses awhile ago as well.

I would contact Peavey and check it out if I were you.

I assume he was replacing his cirrus BXP preamp on his gbass with one of the old USA millennium preamp?

The USA Cirrus preamp would be the upgrade from my Millennium BXP preamp correct?

Found conctact info for parts department on the peavey website and sent them and customer service an e-mail. Unfortunately it looks like both departments are closed until Monday...
