peavey patriot

Patriots are great basses. The Super Ferite pickup is rather clean sounding, that combined with the pickup location can make for a rather tight focused sound. Roll your tone back and if you can drive your amp I think you can warm it up. I love my Mahogany body Patriot. Best 99 bucks I ever spent.

Here's my two Patriots:

I have them both strung with Fender 9050CL flats. That's the sound I like. If you don't like the tone you're getting with GHS flats, play around with other string types. I like the combination of SS flats with the SF pickup. P bass on steroids! I don't have the kind of "golden ear" that can normally pick out difference in tonewoods, but to me there is a slight difference between my mahogany and the red Patriot. Have fun with it!

I would love to purchase this bass

QUOTE="jumbosilverette, post: 3815136, member: 63826"]Gee, I just posted a pic of my red '86 Patriot, bought new this year for $100. I kinda think it does a great impression of a P bass, maybe a little ballsier. I have 1/2 rounds on there and while not capable of a lot of tones it does that one thing so well. Great neck, hardware and finish make it a real sleeper.

I am searching for a peavey patriot bass guitar that was stolen from back in 1986. It’s a red and Black peavey patriot. Serial number 02395532. If anyone can help me in this search I would appreciate it. No, I haven’t given up on finding this bass.

Have you posted this in the Lost/Stolen forum? Lots of eagle eyes there. Definitely do it!

I have a natural finish 1985 patriot. It is everything that everyone says, very gritty tone and it plays excellent. Mine was very well maintained, like new except for the case. Paid 150 off of Craigslist a few years ago with the original bullet case. It has slight neck heaviness but weighs only 7lbs, 11oz. Lightest bass I've ever played.
