Peavey Releases Cirrus again!

Kinda proves the point America's not a good market for Peavey. Knock down price and still gathering dust.

To be fair, I live in an area that is even more traditional than most markets. Fender is basically the ONLY bass. Ibanez if you like metal. Even at my bro deal price, the Millennium and Cirrus tended to be a tad too pricy for the average local metal bassist.

I think, simply because the remaining (used) US Cirruses get snapped up like mad (at least the maple-necked ones), that serious buyers would indeed buy new ones. Those basses are some of the best EVER, and have an insane fan base.

Yeah, if these are imports, for that kind of cash, I'd not even consider them. I'd rather pay that for a mint used USA...there's no substitute. Truth be told, I wouldn't pay $500 for the new Cirrus even if it were identical to the old US made versions. I guess that's why I have 5 of the US millenniums that I'll never sell. I bought 3 US Cirrus' back in the day. All new, all from a local mom and pop dealer. Loved them so much. I'd rather sell all 5 Millenniums and buy one US-built bass from someone.

I'm sure Peavey has no way to bring back the US production of instruments. Which is a shame. Carvin never seemed to miss a beat, and they are in CA, with higher taxes, wages, everything.

Carvin also sells direct, always has, and probably always will. That saves a LOT of moolah.
