Peavey T-40 pickup wired as standard humbucker, help please

Hi. Can someone please tell me or point me towards wiring diagram to wire a Peavey t40 pickup in a as a standard humbucker please. I got one on eBay and would like to install it in an eb-3 copy. I'm not looking for coil taps or special T-40 wiring. Just as a regular old humbucker in a V/ V/ T setup .Thanks!

From memory, the red wire is the coil split wire, so just tape that one off.

Thanks! Should I then then wire the rest like any other humbucker? Will that make both coils active? I'm old to playing but new to wiring .

Yep. It’s a little different than most dual-coil pickups, as it has three wires instead of four. The red wire shortcuts one of the coils. So the white wire is “hot” for both coils, the red wire is “hot” for one coil, and the other wire (can’t remember if it’s black, or bare, or...) goes to ground.

Disconnect and insulate the red wires from tone pots (NOT the output jack or the switch).

Doooooooood. Thank you my friend. Scott Beckwith/ Birdsong even dug it! I've added a single coil/ humbucker switch for the T-40 pickup and it I think I'm done buying basses. I have a G&L Lynx, what my professional guitar repair friend calls an eb-42 (it's a 1976 Aria eb-3 that he has been kind enough to put multiple different pickups in, and 42 is meaning of life). And a USA fender JP-90 which is not the greatest instrument ever but has my name on it (VANITY). I'm considering buying a danelectro and putting g&l pickups in it. Thank you for the kind words
