Peavey T-40 vs. Foundation?

So, I've got an '89 Peavey Foundation with the old style headstock and super ferrites, poplar body, two piece maple neck, and I freaking love it. I want another bass at some point, and I'm thinking about getting a T-40. Can someone tell me about the T-40? How's it compare to the Foundation? It seems to be a lot more valuable.. I love big, heavy basses, and it seems like one.

Peavey made great pickups back in the old days.
Yes they did, my '89 Foundation

Even Ritchie Blackmore would occasionally rock out with Roger Glovers Foundation

The T-40 is a great bass. Tons of tone choices, and tons of character. I did let mine go due to an audible hum I noticed while recording that was not present in any other bass I own. I could have just had one bad apple though. It seems to be wonderfully shielded, and the wire didn't look to be of a cheap variety. I couldn't figure it out so I just let it go. For live applications it would have been just fine.
