Peavey t40 wiring

Hey folks,

I posted this question in the Bass Forum and was told to ask here instead.

I recently got a Peavey T40 and was looking to replace the tone pots. I didnt like how it switched from single coil to humbucker at 7. What I was looking to do was replace the pots with push pull pots so that I could still switch in between humbucking and single coil but have more range with the pot.

I tried wiring this up myself but was unable to figure out how to do it correctly. I was wondering if any of you guys would be able to help me figure out how to wire it up. Thanks in advance.

I'm actually in the same boat as you, but I'm tossing in another 2-way toggle to split the neck and rewiring the phase toggle (the phase is useless for what I play) to split the bridge pickup. Thing is...I have no idea how to wire it that way. So, with that in mind...BUMP!

There is a T-60 Forum out there somewhere with a lot of good info. It's the guitar version but it's wired the same. My T-60 now after 26 yrs has one of the tone pots switching the pickup the opposite way. So that after 7 that pickup switched to single coil. Corrosion maybe? Anyway if that sight doesn't help you the designer of the T-40 and T-60 is Chip Todd and you can contact hiim at [email protected]
He now runs Chip Todd Enterprises which is custom guitars and repairs.
