on my fretless bass, my high g-string buzzes all between the 7th and 12th fret. not anywhere lower than the 7th, nor anywhere higher than the 12th. whats wrong and how do i fix it?

1- If the string(s) buzzes on the first 4 or 5 frets, a relief problem is indicated and a truss rod adjustment is in order.
2- If the string(s) buzzes on the last few frets a bridge height adjustment is in order.
3- An open string buzz usually indicates a bad nut if the buzz clears up when you note the first fret.

well i thought it would be the action but i wasn't sure... becuase it doesn't buzz any after the 12th "fret".
You may Have a slight depression in the fingerboard
and may have to have the neck dressed it isn't that common but a good luthier can dress it true if that is the problem.
