And then you could do a trade with the dude in Offtopic who thinks that precious metals are somehow less susceptible to the whims of global markets than normal FIAT currency

I loved that guy. People don't understand how little value gold and silver really have. If society ever collapses, food/water/antibiotics/toothpaste will be the currency. :)

That and ammo. I *know* this from having played "The Last of Us". ;)

Great game btw

Random question since you brought up games - I don't play FPS games, but have any of you played "Deus Ex: Human Revolution"? I was very confused when I Googled my own name one day...

Just saw the NAM 2013 video with The Caroline Guitar Company guy showing the Kilobyte. That is exactly the delay I am looking for, so long as it doesn't muddy up with bass.
I know it says lofi, but if you back off on the modulation and gain and keep the delay time pretty short you have a clean digital delay. The more modulation and gain you add the higher your chances for mud, but I never had that problem. The other thing is that there's enough output available on the repeats that they can get louder than the original signal, so you never have to worry about losing the repeats instantly to volume loss.

I think I've lost my mind.......ive ordered a copper Voyager in addition to the chrome one.

Its a blemished one, the last copper one 22 of 22. Got a great deal on it..

Yeah but I wasn't all about my Baby Thundaa when I had it. That's what made me figure I didn't like muffs.

The ECT is a weaponized muff. The thing is so frightening and massive sounding that the band I was in at the time when I had it (blues/covers/boring stuff) refused to allow me to use it. I scared them out of the room when I turned it on. No, I'm not kidding.

I don't think I've ever heard a fuzz/dirt tone as aggressive as the ECT, and while a number of you guys have me beat, I've tried a few in my time. I CANNOT wait to try this thing out (Silver Rose). The Superfuzz side should actually do a really cool job of adding a sharpened dagger edge to the leaden medicine ball heft of the ECT, and balance it out quite nicely. Heh. I just said "balance" in reference to the Silver Rose.

I had a TFR and a Civil War and that was my main problem with them both, I really prefer a blend with fuzz and mids help too. Hmmmm.....

I only really like a mids knob with fuzz. I could do without a blend.

Every fuzz I've had gets lost in the mix without a blend. For 2 days I thought the TFR was simply amazing until I tried it with my band. Maybe its me, my bass or whatever....

I'm with @Somnambulance here. I really wanted and tried to love my Baby Thundaa, but I just can't get a single tone I like from it. It was the same before with Bass Big Muff and then Pickle Pie B. The last one I'll be willing to try at some point will be the SUF ones. Right now I am completely stoked by my Woodchipper. That thing is absolutely amazing.

Me too. Especially an older one.

I have an old Bass Microsynth. Not for sale :) But a tryout could be arranged at some point ;)

Managed to spend some quality time, about an hour this morning, with the H9. I even tried using the tuner again. No problem with tuning, but I can't figure out exactly how I'm supposed to step on both switches while standing.

I worked up a version of the stock Shimmer patch that I can fade in with exp. It works great playing along to a couple of recordings of tunes where I need it. Live check Monday night with that band. A question, before I RTFM. Does anyone know if the H9 can be set to let the tail of a patch ring when you hit the bypass? Either by patch or universally? I'll have to see if I can scour the manual this afternoon at work. I want to let a high pad-like sound fade naturally while I go back to straight bass. I can rock back the expression pedal, but I'd prefer it not to be that abrupt.

I finally got down to finding a nice thick chorus, too. I can add more effect, and more depth with the pedal. I'm now A/B'ing phaser settings with my Phase 90 to see how close I can get.
