Pedal Order Recommendation

Whats up guys,

Within the past month, I've obtained the following:

-BBE Sonic Stomp (Sonic Maximizer)
-BBE Opto Stomp (Compressor)
-Humphrey Audio Badder Bass Monkey (Overdrive)

The manual for the Sonic Stomp states that it should be last in my signal chain. However, Bongo's mega write up states that maximizers should be placed before compressors, and that compressors should be placed before overdrives/distortions.

Right now, I have it:

Bass > Overdrive > Compressor > Maximizer > Amp.

According to Bongo's recommendations, I think I'll be switching it to:

Bass > Maximizer > Compressor > Overdrive > Amp

What do you guys think? Any other recommendations? Any and all input is welcomed!

Thanks,
Joash

The only way to know what works for YOU is to try it yourself. Hooray for the standard, yet completely true, answer! :)

Plug everything in in every order you can, stick with what works. Every few months I get out the scotch and flail my arms like mad trying to find a new order for my junk.

I think you may find the maximizer works better last in the chain. I like my compressor before overdrives but that just me.

So I would go: bass - comp - overdrive - maximizer - amp.

There is no wrong or right way. Some effects order ideas are more popular, but really, it all comes down to what works for you!
