pedal preamps that use batteries?

The CIOKS 4 power supply can be powered by a power bank via USB. You could build a small pedalboard with power supply and power bank mounted underneath.

I use my RC Booster all the time with a battery--it's usually the only pedal I use and I hate looking for AC for just one pedal on some dive bar stage. That and a passive JDI go in the gig bag, easy peasy. Flexible too--I can swap something else in for the RC if I want, or even use just the JDI.

A beefy-enough power bank can run whatever pedal(s) you wish. There are many models that have DC power jacks on board, with 9v or 12v (some with both). I'm exploring this option to use with my MX5.

As already stated, just be careful with center polarity and use reverse cables as needed.

Outlier option here but the Durham Sex Drive has really nice flavor for a bass. Runs on battery. Not so much an EQ though.

Ok...so I'm normally anti-battery, but when I sub on Broadway gigs there often isn't a spare plug nearby. I need a pedal preamp that can take batteries. I need something with eq and some extra gain. I know the Sadowsky and the Aguilar Tone Hammer....anything else out there? I may just grab a Tone Hammer (used to have one and liked it), but it's definitely on the bulkier/heavier side. Thanks!

Get yourself one of these Lithium battery power supplies. Then you can buy whatever preamp you want. I’ve used it for four years with seven pedals on my board. Never had an issue and don’t have to worry about finding a power outlet. Power Box Li2 ( PB-109 )
