Pedal suggestions for grind/crust/dirt

get aDOD death metal(older style), the bassist from napalm death used one back in the 90s, they are great on bass for extreme grind stuff especially if your as pick player, plus they are super cheap made for both guitarists or bassist, have bass mid and treble knobs, but you really can't escape the grind with this one as there is no drive control, but a very fun box either way, can get one for about $50 or less, don't get the divitech version though, they suck horribly!!!

I got a MIJ HM2 a few days ago for my guitar but I still have to try it out on bass since my bass is at my band's practice room. I like the HM2 sound and I would like to have it on bass, I am afraid tho that I will lose a lot of low end, any pedal suggestions that I can use with my HM2? Thanks!

I don't go for a real bass heavy tone, I prefer a mid heavy tone but the Boss MIJ HM-2 doesn't take out any lows man, just adjust the bass knob to taste, even when i've used it with a really bass heavy sound the HM-2 kept the lows.

Cheaper the better, says the OP...

Bad Monkey, sounds badder after it's modded for better bass response. I've never had one, so couldn't tell you how much extra the mod would add to the price... Hang on a tick... [*checks the Humphries website], oh, okay. So you can get the Badder Bass Bad Monkey (a new modded Bad Monkey direct from Humphries) for a $105. I'm sure there are cheaper options, especially used.

I return you to your regular deluge of dirt-box suggestions...

Good point.

OP is in Europe, so he could get the SFX modded one. I owned the SFX modded one and it was very very good. I sold it but I wish I had kept it honestly. BlowerBox might be more the sound OP is looking for however.

nshuman: nice job taking the high road. I have a Grey Stache and a Blower Box--think they're both great effects from terrific builders, and never at all thought any of your comments in other threads were anti-Fuzzrocious.

The Digitech bass driver does some pretty decent tones, form a grindy tube style right up to a crazy buzz-fuzz. You mentioned cheap- they are all over e-bay for +/- $35. I have had one for 7-8 years without issue. Obviously not THE best bass O/D out there, but the best one for thirty five bucks by far!

Really?

It starts here, after he posts some incorrect information and is corrected by Ryan. He gets butthurt:

Then stomps his feet and decides he'll show them and sells all his Fuzzrocious stuff. No problem, that's his business. Except he then took every opportunity to slam them:

I don't even like Fuzzrocious that much. I'm even selling a Rat King. But to call someone out for the same thing he's doing is hypocritical. Waste of time though, since he tucked his tail between his legs and ignored me, rather then defend himself. I really apologize to everyone else, but I couldn't help myself.

No offense but my Fuzzrocious stuff has been sitting on the sidelines for like 3 months and barely used. The last one that I actually used often was the RK that got blown out of the water (for me at least) by the BlowerBox. After that, I asked a few people about selling and whether or not I was making a big mistake. Half the responses were "don't sell, you will regret it" the other half were "sell, sell, buy what you want". I was planning on only selling the Demon and DarkDriving, and getting a Darkest Driving, keeping the RatKing, and the Grey stache.

Then, everything else sold and I had an opportunity for something else I had my eye on so I put up the RatKing up for a quick sale. I am keeping my Grey Stache because there is no way I will ever get more than maybe 30% of the original purchase price+mods+shipping (sorry for the harsh truth, but they have very crappy resale value if you buy them new).

By the way, the whole Failure/Facebook thing is whatever Ryan and his friends decide to say it is, but I guarantee you that if you look at the original Facebook post, it was intentionally left ambiguous when people asked him what the deal was.

Do I feel slighted by Fuzzrocious in anyway? No. I don't care and I wish them all the luck in their endeavours. But, it's not because he's a TB member and has a following that I have to keep the pedals I bought from him forever or somehow have an obligation to love his stuff in perpetuity.

I have actually recommended Fuzzrocious many times over the last 2 years, but I will not anymore because. I don't have any on my board nor do I want any at this point in time. I'm not going to be a hypocrite and tell people to buy stuff that I ultimately ended up not liking that much.

I'm not sure what the motivation is here? You want me to admit that I don't care for Fuzzrocious stuff at this point in time? I admit it, I also don't particularly care for a lot of pedals out there. Also, I have never posted anything about some repairs I had to do on some of his pedals.

Honestly, if I keep getting grief like this from Fuzzrocious supporters (yeah, I know you aren't...), I may actually start disliking that company a lot more than I do at the moment. So hate all you want. Don't worry, I'll defend myself if need be.

I am sorry for this thread highjack.

BTW, for cheap, Joyo UD + BlowerBox...
