Pedalboard powered by cordless power tool battery?

A few weeks later, I've made my prototype. A 4Ah lithium battery from my power drill. A battery connector 3-D printed by a guy on eBay. A 1A fuse to reduce the chance of all that lithium goodness exploding on stage. A cheap pedal power unit which happened to need 18v input, which is the battery output.

I've been using the JOYO Power Supply 5 from Amazon for the last two years.
The longest I've had it on at a gig is a little over four hours. Still had plenty of juice for an hour of practice when I got home the next day. I've never run it all the way down.

It's a different 'brand' to mine, but your "JOYO" photos on Amazon look identical to what I'm using, which is branded "ASMUSE".

Previously I managed about 30 minutes on a 180mAh PP9 battery when hooked up to a PA. So I'm expecting it will be good for 8+ hours on the larger 4Ah batteries. I have two 4Ah and two 2Ah :)

I was using this pedalboard power supply for a few weeks and it performed very well, charges via a standard usb cube charger. I only stopped using it because one of my pedals (a 10-band MXR Para eq) requires 18 volts and the power supply only has 9 volt outlets. I tried bridging two of them to run it, and it didn't work, so its just sitting in my closet. I sought it out less for the chargeable option and more because I was looking for an ultra-compact power supply for a small pedalboard for upright gigs, and was tired of messing with a one spot with wires everywhere. The fact that it could go for a whole gig cord-free was a bonus.

That looks a useful bit of kit! I agree about "wires everywhere". I got onto the power tool battery idea as I already had four of them, they have built-in charge meters, and I have a fast mains charger.

I was finding I had to drag my upright on stage, pedalboard (essential as it has the pre-amp for the piezo pickup), stool for comfy ergonomics, and was always the last to be ready. Quicker now as I don't have to find a power socket & run an extension.
